Could be called Firefox

The next major update of Firefox is, as we all know, the 3.1 ... Or is it 3.5?It turns out that there is a proposal to increase the number to 3.5 this new version, code named Shiretoko, as explained this afternoon in mozilla.dev.planning Mike Shaver:

A wider representation and navigation TraceMonkey in private, as well as the huge volume of work that is taking to develop everything from video and media design to the "places" and the service aggregates, makes this version an increase of over we think reasonable to call it "1."3.5 help to better define expectations about the amount of surprises packed in Shiretoko.

If the proposal is accepted, the development of the next version of the best browser in the world will continue these directions:

•  Shiretoko will be released as Firefox 3.5.7
• The forthcoming third beta will be released as 3.1b3.
• The next beta will be renumbered as Firefox 3.5b4.
•  The betas of "Minefield" Firefox Shiretoko that come after, will be renumbered as 3.6a1pre until further notice.
• Versions of Gecko 1.9.1 and 1.9.2 shall not be paid.
