On Wednesday, a Web measurement firm said Mozilla’s Firefox and Apple’s Safari had lost crucial amounts of market share due to a massive online marketing campaign.
Net Applications of California had posted data on its website which shows the continuing dropping in share of Firefox and Safari.
“An extremely large marketing campaign among a small number of sites that targeted only users of IE was responsible for the aberrant numbers”, said Vince Vizzaccaro, the executive vice president of marketing at Net Applications.
The IE traffic skewed the results in the Microsoft browser’s favor for this month. Moreover, it pulled down the market share of Firefox and Safari.
More details are available on the official website.
