Dec. 13, 2006 –Mozilla is for the first time introducing Firefox to TV viewers by airing four fan-produced videos. Lots of Firefox fans are helping preparing the airtime trial for Mozilla. Around 280 clips of videos are submitted to Mozilla’s Firefox Flicks program. This has encouraged professionals, students, and filmmakers to create 30-second spots about the acclaimed Web browser. The content of the videos is primarily about why Firefox is the safest, fastest and most interesting way to experience the Web.

Mozilla’s director of community development said:“The Firefox community has rallied around this project by creating some amazing videos and is now helping sponsor four of these clips on primetime TV. We’ll be able to reach millions of people who may not yet realize how their Web browser can affect their online experience.”

The videos selected in the trial include four parts: Billy’s Browser, Web for All, Daredevil and This is Hot. Firefox fans that have helped sponsoring the project will have their names showing on TV. The Firefox Flicks campaign is the first large-scale video-based community initiative for a software product.

This campaign will help Mozilla take another step toward to a bigger success in the future time, and it also tights the relationship between the company and Firefox fans.
